Frequently asked questions

Is PetWalkly for dog walkers, pet sitters, or both?
Both. PetWalkly is dog walking and pet sitting software in one platform — see our pages for dog walking software, pet sitting software, and pet care business software.
How does the free trial work?
Submit a trial request with your company details. We review requests before setting up your account. Once approved, you receive login details and 30 days of full access. Complete the setup wizard on first login — branding, services, areas, and optional imports. Contact support if you want help getting set up.
Do you help with setup and onboarding?
Yes. Every new company gets a guided setup wizard on first login. Trial and paid accounts include welcome instructions with your login URL. If you are moving from spreadsheets or another system, email support and we can point you through branding, imports, and going live with staff.
Can I bulk import clients and visits?
Yes. Download Excel templates from the setup wizard or company admin. Client imports use one row per household with slash-separated pets (e.g. Rex / Bella), plus optional phone, area, and billing fields; older three-column spreadsheets still import. Upload .xlsx or .csv for clients and schedule. PetWalkly reports what was added or updated and returns an error workbook for rows that need fixing. Export in the same format to edit and re-import.
What is included in Solo vs Team?
Solo covers one staff member. Team includes a base subscription plus additional staff seats. Both include scheduling, clients, invoicing, client portal, and mobile apps.
How do I access my company login page?
Each company gets a dedicated URL on PetWalkly. We assign it when your account is approved and set up—you will receive the exact link in your welcome email.
How do staff log in on mobile?
Staff install the PetWalkly iOS or Android app and sign in with your company credentials. Schedules and visit details sync from your account. Master admins can also manage company settings and WhatsApp setup from mobile.
Can PetWalkly handle visit cancellations?
Yes. Staff can cancel or restore visits from the web scheduler or mobile apps. Future visits can follow automatic notice rules; past or short-notice cancels can use configurable fee tiers. Bulk cancel and restore tools help when plans change for many visits at once.
Does PetWalkly support daycare or morning/afternoon scheduling?
Yes. Turn on daycare scheduling in company settings or during the setup wizard. Staff book visits by Morning or Afternoon session and assign pets — without per-visit clock times in the scheduler UI. The client portal uses the same session picker for service requests. Standard time-window scheduling remains when daycare mode is off.
Does PetWalkly support kennel and cattery boarding stays?
Yes. Enable boarding stays to define runs (kennels or cat condos), book arrival–departure stays with per-run and company capacity checks, and show in-house guests on web and mobile. The client portal uses arrival and departure dates for Stay-type services. See our kennel & cattery software page for details.
Does PetWalkly integrate with WhatsApp?
You can connect your WhatsApp Business number so client messages create service requests in PetWalkly. Direct chats match clients by phone number; you can map group chats to households when your team works in WhatsApp groups. Setup is in company admin — you need Meta WhatsApp Cloud API access on your business account.
Can I use custom forms for new client enquiries?
Yes. Build intake forms in admin, publish public apply links, and review submissions on your home dashboard. Approve a submission as a new client — pets and contact details carry over without retyping. See Client intake on the Features page.
Does PetWalkly support GPS walk proof?
Optional walk GPS proof can be enabled in company settings. When staff complete a visit in the mobile app, route data can attach to the visit so you can open a map from the visit record — useful when owners want evidence a walk happened.
Can I track business expenses and mileage?
Yes. PetWalkly includes expenses (with receipt OCR), mileage periods rebuilt from visit routes, and financial reports with Excel export — alongside client invoicing in the same account. Finance modules are typically admin-only on web and mobile.
How does staff time off work?
Staff request leave from web or mobile; admins approve or reject from admin screens. Approved time off blocks scheduling that staff member for those dates. Push notifications alert admins on new requests and staff when a decision is made.
Does PetWalkly support Stripe Connect for client payments?
Yes. Master admin completes Stripe Connect Express onboarding from company admin. Clients can then pay outstanding balances through the portal. PayPal and bank transfer are also supported. See Payments & bank feeds on the Features page.
Can I import bank transactions into expenses?
Yes. Connect Starling or Revolut Business from admin bank feeds, link Monzo, or upload CSV bank statements. Imported transactions feed into expenses alongside manual entry and receipt OCR.
How does staff pay per visit work?
Enable staff pay in billing settings with flat or percentage rules per visit. Multi-staff visits can split equally or by staff profile. Export a date-range staff pay report from admin for payroll. Walkers see pay share on the schedule; client invoicing prices stay unchanged.
Do I get my own company URL?
Yes. Each approved company receives a subdomain such as https://your-company.petwalkly.co.uk for staff, clients, and the portal. The setup wizard on first login configures branding, services, and optional imports.
Does PetWalkly include Design Studio for training summaries?
Yes. Design Studio is built into PetWalkly — create branded training summary PDFs linked to visits and to-dos, publish them to the client portal, and design marketing graphics without a separate Canva subscription. Edit on web or in the native iOS/Android app. See Design Studio on the Features page.
Can PetWalkly track dog field bookings?
Yes. Dog field booking groups appear on your home dashboard. Optionally enable mailbox IMAP ingest to parse field provider confirmation emails into actionable groups. See Dog field bookings on the Features page.
What happens after I pay for Solo or Team?
You are redirected to Stripe for secure payment. After checkout completes, your company account is set up automatically and you receive a welcome email with login instructions.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Contact support to cancel. Cancellation terms are described in our Terms of Service.
